The Yamaha MT-15 has not undergone any mechanical changes. It continues to be powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 18.14bhp and 14.1Nm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed transmission with a slip-and-assist clutch as standard.

The bike is built on a diamond frame and is suspended on an inverted fork and monoshock. It rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. Braking duties are handled by a 282mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear. It gets dual-channel ABS as standard.

On the standard variant, the bike features an LCD console. The DLX TFT variant, as the name suggests, features a TFT console. The console offers smartphone connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts.

The Yamaha MT-15 goes up against the KTM 160 Duke. Other alternatives to the bike include the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
