140 personnel, 400 constables deployed for Surya Kiran aerobatics show

Patna: Around 140 personnel and nearly 400 constables, besides home guards have been deputed along JP Ganga Path to ensure smooth flow of traffic on April 22 and 23 when a planned aerobatics show by Indian Air Force‘s (IAF) Surya Kiran team will be held, said Patna traffic SP Aprajit Lohan. The traffic police have also tweaked its route plans in view of the event.
The aerobatics show will be organised in front of Sabhyata Dwar between JP Ganga Path and the northern part of the river from 10am to 11.15am. The changed traffic plan will remain effective between 6am and noon on both the days.
Detailing about the traffic arrangement, Lohan said that movement of vehicles from Children’s Park and divisional commissioner’s office towards JP Ganga Path would be totally prohibited on both the days during the said timeline.
Vehicles going from Gaighat to Digha roundabout will have to take the Krishna Ghat underpass route via Ashok Rajpath. Those coming from Digha roundabout to Gaighat will have to go through LCT underpass on Ashok Rajpath, Lohan said.

Commercial vehicles, including buses, e-rickshaws and autorickshaws, approaching from Danapur via Ashok Rajpath will be allowed till police line T-junction. Those going towards Gandhi Maidan will have to take the police line T-junction and Budh Marg route. Vehicles going from Gandhi Maidan to west Danapur will also have to use the same route during the two days.
“The LCT approach road will remain one-way, and vehicles will be allowed only from north to south direction,” said Lohan.
Detailing about the proposed changes in the parking arrangement for the aerobatics show, the traffic SP said that vehicles coming from Digha to JP Ganga Path can be parked at LCT Ghat and the southern flank after taking U-turn from the LCT Ghat in a single lane.
Heavy and small vehicles can be parked at Pahalwan and Bans ghats, while parking arrangement for two-wheelers coming from Gaighat towards JP Ganga Path will be in a single lane on the northern flank between Krishna Ghat and PMCH underpass.
Vehicles coming from Bailey Road, Veerchand Patel Path, Ashok Rajpath and Exhibition Road can be parked near Gandhi Maidan Gate numbers 1, 4, 5, 6 and 10. And those approaching from Gaighat via Ashok Rajpath can be parked at Collectorate, Mahendru, Kali, Kadam and Patna College ghats as well as on the grounds of Patna College and Science College.
