4 killed, 16 injured as SUV overturns in Nandyal district

Tirupati: Four persons were killed and 16 others sustained injuries after a commercial SUV overturned near Bairluti Chenchugudem, close to Atmakur in Nandyal district on Friday. The deceased were identified as Chandramma (31), Giddaiah (42), Sasikala (40) and Lakshmi (28). Atmakur circle inspector (CI) Ramu said the deceased and injured were residents of Adoni town in Kurnool district. They were returning from the Srisailam temple to their native place, when the driver lost control due to inclement weather and the vehicle overturned. Police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the nearest hospitals and later, to govt general hospital in Kurnool for better medical care. tnn
