Honda Launches Its First Electric Motorcycle In China; Will It Come To India?

Honda has introduced its first electric motorcycle in China. It is called the E-VO and is available with two battery pack options. Designed to look like a scrambler, the Honda E-VO has been developed in collaboration with Honda’s Japanese partner, Wuyang. As of now, the E-VO remains exclusive to the Chinese market, and Honda has no plans of introducing it to any other market, including India.

Honda is offering the E-VO with two battery pack options: a 4.1 kWh unit and a 6.2 kWh unit. With the 4.1 kWh battery pack, Honda’s new electric motorcycle offers a range of 120 km. With the 6.2 kWh pack, its range increases to 170 km. These estimates are according to the Chinese WMTC cycle. Charging the smaller battery pack with a home charger takes 1 hour and 30 minutes while charging the larger pack takes 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Honda E-VO’s Electric Motor produces 20.5-HP

Both variants of the E-VO come with the same electric motor, which produces an equivalent of 20.5 hp. There are three riding modes on offer: Eco, Normal, and Sport. The chassis is all-aluminium, and this electric cafe racer rides on 16/14-inch (F/R) wheels. The E-VO is equipped with dual-channel ABS. The feature list of this unique electric motorcycle includes a 7-inch TFT dash, a front dashcam, LED lights, and disk brakes on both wheels.
