BYD India Hikes Sealion 7 SUV Prices In India – Here’s How Much Extra This EV Costs Now!

BYD Sealion 7 Price Hike Explained

Chinese EV maker BYD’s India arm has announced its decision to increase prices for its flagship Sealion 7 SUV model from January 1, 2026. The brand has also clarified that it will honour the old ex-showroom price for bookings that were made on or before December 31, 2025, for the electric SUV. The Sealion 7 is BYD’s rival in the growing mid-sized luxury EV segment and previously had a starting price of Rs 48.90 lakh ex-showroom. Here’s how much extra you would now have to pay for the EV.

The BYD Sealion 7 is available in two different variants called Sealion 7 Premium and Sealion 7 Performance. BYD has now announced that prices for the more affordable Premium variant have been increased by Rs 50,000, whereas prices for the Performance variant remain unchanged. The Sealion 7 Premium’s new ex-showroom price is Rs 49.40 lakh ex-showroom and the Performance variant is priced at Rs 54.90 lakh ex-showroom. Apart from the Sealion 7, BYD has not announced any price hike for its other EV models, such as the Atto 3 SUV and the eMAX 7 MPV.

BYD Sealion 7 Performance – 0-100 Kmph In 4.5 Seconds

Both variants of the Sealion 7 feature BYD’s 82.56 kWh Blade battery pack that gives the SUV an NEDC-certified range figure of up to 567 km on a full charge. The main difference between the Premium and Performance variants of the Sealion 7 is power. The Premium variant generates 308 hp and 380 Nm of torque, and the Performance variant produces a whopping 522 hp and 690 Nm of torque. These output figures give the Premium variant a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 6.7 seconds and 4.5 seconds for the Performance variant. Both are impressive figures for an electric SUV built for everyday driving. The electric SUV has also scored a 5-star crash safety rating at the Euro NCAP crash tests.
