TVS Motor Company Surges 31 In February 2026, Two Wheelers And EV Lead The Charge

The Indian two-wheeler industry has begun 2026 on a strong note and one company that is clearly riding this wave is TVS Motor Company. In February 2026, TVS Motor Company recorded total monthly sales of 5,29,308 units. To understand how significant that is, compare it with February 2025, when the company sold 4,03,976 units. That is a solid 31% growth in just one year, which is a big achievement.

Two-Wheelers

Two-wheelers, which include motorcycles and scooters, remain the backbone of TVS. In February 2026, the company sold 5,07,862 two-wheelers, up 30% from 3,91,889 units sold in the same month last year. Domestic demand has been particularly strong. Sales within India grew 32%, rising from 2,76,072 units in February 2025 to 3,65,471 units this year. Motorcycles alone grew 25%, with sales increasing from 1,92,960 units to 2,41,282 units. This segment includes everything from entry-level commuter bikes to sporty models.

Scooters, however, grew even faster at 34%. Sales jumped from 1,64,415 units last year to 2,19,895 units in February 2026. Scooters remain extremely popular in urban India because they are easy to ride, practical and fuel-efficient, which is ideal for office-goers, students and even small business owners.

Electric Vehicles

TVS recorded 60% growth in EV sales, increasing from 24,017 units to 38,386 units. This is important because electric scooters are no longer a niche product. With rising fuel prices, better charging infrastructure and government support, more buyers are seriously considering EVs. A 60% jump shows that consumer confidence in electric mobility is strengthening.

International Business

TVS is not just focusing on India, but its international business recorded its highest-ever sales at 1.58 lakh units (1,58,268 units) in February 2026. That represents a 27% growth over last year’s 1,24,993 units. Two-wheeler exports alone grew 23%, reaching 1,42,391 units. This means TVS motorcycles and scooters are finding strong demand in overseas markets across Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Three-Wheelers See Massive Growth

Another standout performer was the three-wheeler segment, which grew by 77%. Sales jumped from 12,087 units to 21,446 units.

Three-wheelers are widely used for last-mile transport and goods movement in India. A sharp rise here often indicates improving economic activity and stronger demand in small business and rural markets. Growth in motorcycles shows aspiration, whereas growth in scooters shows practicality. Growth in EVs shows the future and growth in exports shows Indian brands are becoming global players.
