New Porsche Cayenne S Electric SUV Offers 656 hp, AWD And A Green Interior – Details

Porsche Unveils New Cayenne S Electric SUV

German luxury automaker has announced a third variation of its recently launched Cayenne electric SUV to suit the needs of buyers who are looking for a balance between the Turbo trim’s performance and the standard version’s efficiency. The new Cayenne S sits between the standard Cayenne Electric and the Cayenne Turbo Electric SUVs and could be seen as the model that offers the best of both worlds. Here’s a closer look at the new Cayenne S and how it brings a difference in Porsche’s existing lineup of all-electric SUVs.

When compared to the standard Cayenne Electric, the Cayenne S leverages its all-wheel drive system to produce 536 hp. With the Launch Control overboost, this power output briefly goes up to 656 hp and gives the SUV a 0-100 kmph time of just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 250 kmph. In comparison, the standard SUV produces 220 hp and the Cayenne Turbo Electric produces a whopping 1,140 hp. Which is most likely an overkill for everyday urban use. Porsche has also made the Cayenne S distinct in appearance by adding model-specific front and rear sections that appear sharper than the standard car but not as aggressive as the Cayenne Turbo Electric.

In terms of specifications, the new Cayenne S EV gets a 113 kWh battery pack that gives the SUV a WLTP-certified claimed range of up to 653 km on a full charge. Fast-charging capability of up to 400 kW remains standard in the Cayenne S and gives it a 10 to 80 percent charge time of 16 minutes with a suitable charger.

Black and Delgada Green Interior Under ‘Style’ Package

In terms of the high-end Cayenne Turbo tech that can be seen in the Cayenne S, it comes with the dual-motor setup with one motor on each axle. It gets the Launch Control function and just like the Turbo, the Cayenne S also uses a direct oil-cooling system for the rear axle. Apart from the subdued exterior update, the Cayenne S also gets a set of 20-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels and has a torque vectoring program, ceramic composite brakes and a Sport Chrono Package available as add-ons.

Currently, the standard Porsche Cayenne Electric is priced from Rs 1.76 crore ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 2.26 crore ex-showroom for the Cayenne Turbo Electric in India.
