Ferrari 849 Testarossa Unveiled In Mumbai

When it comes to young Ferrari owners, Indian entrepreneurs and performance car enthusiasts rank among the youngest globally, as noted by the Italian supercar manufacturer at the recent unveiling of the Ferrari 849 Testarossa in Mumbai. The new 849 Testarossa is Ferrari’s plug-in hybrid super sports berlinetta, which will replace the existing SF90 Stradale in the country. From its re-engineered V8 motor to active aerodynamic innovations, here’s everything you need to know about the 1,035 hp hybrid supercar.

The Ferrari 849 Testarossa expands the brand’s portfolio of hybrid berlinettas (sports coupes), which also includes the 296 GTB. The Testarossa features a 4.0-litre, 3,990cc re-engineered twin turbocharged V8 engine that works in tandem with the hybrid system to deliver a combined output of 1,035 hp and 842 Nm of torque. It even offers an electric-only range of up to 25 km, with power delivered via Ferrari’s 8-speed dual-clutch F1 gearbox. The advanced drivetrain gives the 849 Testarossa a 0-100 kmph time of just 2.3 seconds and a top speed of 330 kmph.

The new age design of the 849 Testarossa is both aesthetic and functional. It integrates advanced solutions derived from Ferrari’s motorsport history. It includes an evolved aerodynamic architecture, a twin-tail rear design with an active rear spoiler, a full suite of the latest-generation vehicle-control tech, including Ferrari’s ABS Evo and five vehicle-dynamics estimators. Other tech highlights include Slide Slip Control, eDiff, EPS, and performance EBD. The sports coupe also gets 20-inch wheels up front and rear. The design takes heavy inspiration from a 1970s sports prototype and gives the new Testarossa unmatched thermal and aerodynamic efficiency, according to Ferrari.

The 849 Testarossa in its default configuration will cost approximately Rs 10.37 crore ex-showroom and bookings are currently open at Ferrari dealerships. Deliveries for the new Testarossa are expected to take place in the second half of 2026.
