Audi SQ8 Set To Launch Tomorrow In India – Here’s What We Know So Far

Audi India is all set to launch one of its most exciting performance SUVs, the Audi SQ8, in India tomorrow, as India’s luxury car market has been evolving rapidly over the past few years, buyers are no longer looking only for comfortable sedans or large SUVs as they increasingly want vehicles that combine luxury, technology and thrilling performance in one package.

The SQ8 sits at the sportier end of Audi’s popular Q-series SUV lineup. While the standard Audi Q8 is known for its luxurious interior and elegant design, the SQ8 adds a strong dose of performance engineering.

At the heart of the new SQ8 is a 4.0-litre V8 TFSI petrol engine that produces 373 kW of power, which is roughly 500 horsepower, along with 770 Nm of torque. The SQ8’s powerful engine allows the SUV to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds, which is a figure usually associated with sports cars rather than large SUVs. The vehicle’s top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, placing it in the high-performance luxury segment.

Power alone does not define the driving experience of the SQ8 as Audi has equipped the SUV with several advanced technologies to ensure it remains stable, comfortable and engaging to drive. One of the most important features is Audi’s legendary quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system. This technology distributes power to all four wheels, improving grip and stability on different types of roads, especially during high-speed driving or slippery conditions.

The SUV also features adaptive air suspension sport, which automatically adjusts ride height and suspension stiffness depending on driving conditions. This means the SQ8 can provide a smooth and comfortable ride during daily driving, while also delivering sharp handling when the driver pushes the vehicle harder. Another advanced feature is all-wheel steering, where the rear wheels can turn slightly. At lower speeds, this improves maneuverability in tight spaces, while at higher speeds it enhances stability and control.
