Indore: Agar-Malwa Police arrested a commercial container driver and seized over 613 kg of poppy husk worth Rs 1.22 crore concealed inside the vehicle. The operation was carried out on Saturday after Kotwali Agar police received specific intelligence about a container truck transporting narcotics hidden among sacks of soya de oiled cake. The vehicle was reportedly moving along Sarangpur–Kanad–Agar route towards Susner when a team of police intercepted it at Ganesh Ghati on the Agar–Sarangpur road.The vehicle driver identified himself as Vikar Singh, a resident of Punjab. A search of the vehicle led to recovered of 31 black sacks containing doda chura concealed within the consignment.The recovered contraband weighed 613 kg and 600 gram. Police said the accused could not produce any valid documents or licence for transporting the substance.

Along with the narcotics, the team seized the container truck, two mobile phones, cash, and other documents.The estimated value of the seized poppy husk is around Rs 1.22 crore, while the container truck is valued at approximately Rs 30 lakh. Other seized items take the total value of the haul to about Rs 1.53 crore. A case was registered under the NDPS Act at Kotwali Agar police station.
