Triumph Motorcycles has confirmed the launch of the new 350cc range in India on 6 April. This will include the updated Speed, Scrambler, and Thruxton models.

The new 350 range will use a downsized version of the 398cc motor. Triumph is expected to bring the bore down while keeping the stroke unchanged to make it sit at around 349cc. The lesser over-square design could likely result in improved low-end and mid-range torque delivery.

Although the power figures aren’t officially known yet, a quick back-of-the-envelope calculation suggests that the 349cc mill could produce close to 35bhp and nearly 32-33Nm of peak torque.

Besides the downsized engine, the new Triumph 350 range is expected to retain its styling and hardware from the 400 range. We hope Triumph uses this opportunity to update the equipment list, as the existing range is devoid of features such as a TFT dash, ride modes, and a quick-shifter. These features have become increasingly common in the segment now. However, the chances of Triumph updating the features list look quite slim.

The new 350 range will benefit from the lower 18 per cent GST rates, which should bring down the prices significantly. Notably, dealer sources have revealed that the prices could be lowered by up to Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000, depending on the models. We will be testing these bikes in early April, so stay tuned for our detailed reviews.
