No LPG shortage in Haryana: Minister; 825 cylinders seized in 3 weeks

Chandigarh: Haryana has claimed to have taken strict action against black marketing and illegal use of LPG cylinders to stem the energy crisis owing to ongoing West Asia conflict, registering eight FIRs and seizing 825 cylinders in over three weeks.As many as 131 cylinders have been seized from Jhajjar, 109 from Mahendragarh, 98 from Rohtak, 86 from Ambala, 75 from Gurugram, 71 from Fatehabad, 44 from Karnal, 39 from Hisar and 21 from Bhiwani among others, according to a govt official. He added that seven FIRs have been registered in Faridabad and one in Sonipat, and three vehicles seized during the crackdown.

Minister of state for food, civil supplies and consumer affairs, Rajesh Nagar, on Tuesday, assured there is no shortage of domestic LPG supply in the state. In the last six days, oil marketing companies have supplied 61,034 domestic LPG cylinders of 14.2 kg, and the stock at bottling plants stands at 982,212 domestic cylinders. Regarding commercial LPG, in the last 25 days, 848 commercial cylinders of 19 kg were supplied, and the current stock at bottling plants stands at 179,566 cylinders, said the govt official MSID:: 129775676 413 |
