KTM Unveils the Limited 890 Adventure R Rally

• Limited-run global model with WP XPLOR PRO suspension
• Akrapovic slip-on as standard
• Bajaj acquired 100 percent ownership in Pierer Bajaj AG and secured full control of KTM AG

KTM has shown the 2026 890 Adventure R Rally as the sharpest most hard core version of its middleweight off-road adventure platform. It is factory-grade rally bordering full competition machinery. The bike will be produced in limited numbers worldwide and will roll off the Austrian production line in March.

The Rally gets WP XPLOR PRO suspension derived from its Factory Racing competition programmes using a Cone Valve fork and matching rear shock delivering 270mm of travel. That is a serious increase pushing the motorcycle closer to rally-style terrain work than most showroom adventure motorcycles can try. Standard equipment includes an Akrapovic slip-on Line exhaust, rally seat, Factory Racing footpegs, carbon tank guards, heavy-duty wheels and a Supersprox-Stealth rear sprocket.

The torquey 889cc parallel twin is rated at 104bhp and 100Nm and is backed by a battery of electronic aids. It is accessible torque, manageable size and enough power to keep momentum across difficult ground. Rally comes with its Tech Pack including Rally Mode, Quickshifter+, Cruise Control and Motor Slip Regulation, plus Offroad ABS, multiple ride modes and a 5-inch TFT display with Turn-by-Turn+ navigation.

It is well known by now that Bajaj Auto acquired 100 percent ownership in Pierer Bajaj AG and secured full control of KTM AG in November 2025. A tighter Bajaj-KTM structure could make decision-making around premium imports, homologation priorities and distribution planning more aligned for markets like India. Let’s just hope KTM India is able to offer an expanded CBU models for our market subject to whether KTM and Bajaj believe there is enough demand for a small-volume, high-spec adventure import above the regular 890 Adventure R.
