Upcoming Triumph Speed 400 with 350cc Engine Spotted Ahead of Launch

  • The bike gets minimal design changes
  • Still called the Speed 400
  • The 350cc engine is called ‘TR Series.’

The upcoming Speed 400, with the new 350cc engine, has been spotted for the first time ahead of launch. Triumph is planning to launch its 350cc lineup in India on 6 April 2026, and the spy shots have revealed some interesting information about the upcoming bike.

Bajaj, KTM and Triumph have been working on downsizing their 400cc engines to below 350cc. This has been done due to GST 2.0, which has increased the tax on bikes above 350 from 31 percent to 40 percent.

Currently, the Triumph 400 lineup is powered by a 389.15cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor that produces 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm. Downsizing the engines will allow the brand to take advantage of the tax cut on 350cc motors, which is now 18 per cent; earlier it was 28 percent.

The motorcycle has not undergone any changes to its design, colours, or badging. It is still called the ‘Speed 400’. The bike in the spy shots sports the Racing Red/Pearl Metallic White colour scheme, and at first glance looks like a regular Speed 400.

As the bike is powered by a new 349cc motor, power and performance are expected to be slightly lower. The new engine will be called ‘TR Series’, as indicated by the badging on the engine block.

With the downsizing of the engines, the prices of the motorcycles should come down. But from what we’ve gathered from our sources, prices are likely to remain the same as the current 400 lineup.
