New Suzuki Burgman Street to Launch in India Today

  • Expected to receive a complete design overhaul
  • Will feature split LED headlights
  • Likely to be powered by the same 124cc engine

Suzuki is all set to launch the new-generation Burgman Street in India today. The maxi-scooter has already been spotted testing on Indian roads, and going by the spy images, it appears to be a comprehensive update over the outgoing model.

The maxi-scooter is expected to feature a completely revamped design. Up front, the new Burgman Street will feature split LED headlamps with DRLs, drawing inspiration from the larger Suzuki Burgman 750. At the rear, it will get a large LED tail lamp, lending it a big-scooter appeal. However, the rear wheel still looks relatively small and somewhat out of proportion with the scooter’s overall bulk.

While Suzuki has not disclosed the technical specifications yet, the new Burgman Street is expected to retain the same 124cc, single-cylinder engine from the current model. The cycle parts are also likely to remain unchanged, including telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock setup.

The Burgman Street has been on sale in India since 2018, and it is known for its comfortable ergonomics, smooth and refined engine performance, and its maxi-scooter styling. That said, the rear wheel looks disproportionate, and the rear suspension could do with better damping. With this generational refresh, we hope Suzuki addresses its shortcomings by introducing a more proportionate design, improved comfort, and more features.
