KTM 390 Duke with 350cc Engine Launched at Rs. 2.77 Lakh

  • 399cc Duke will continue to be on sale
  • New 350cc Duke is Rs. 62,000 more affordable
  • Power and torque output have gone down

KTM India has launched the new 350cc iteration of the popular 390 Duke in India. The motorcycle is priced at Rs. 2.77 lakh, making it close to Rs. 62,000 more affordable than the 399cc Duke, which carries the ‘R’ suffix now and continues to be on sale. The price drop is due to the former falling in the 18 per cent GST category with an under-350cc engine.

The engine has been downsized by reducing the stroke length to 56.15mm, down from 64mm. The bore size, meanwhile, remains the same at 89mm. As a result, the new 350cc Duke pumps out 40.9bhp and 33.5Nm, while the 399cc version makes 45.3bhp and 39Nm. At 168kg, the kerb weight of the new 390 Duke is lower by just 0.3kg as compared to the R model. Strangely, at 800mm, the saddle height of the downsized 390 Duke is 20mm lower than its more powerful counterpart, which should make the former more accessible to shorter riders.

While KTM has kept overall styling and bodywork of the new 390 Duke unchanged, it comes in new colour options. While the names of these colour the same as the 399cc version, they have been given a different visual treatment. In all other aspects, the 350cc Duke remains the same. It rides on 17-inch wheels that are suspended by WP suspension. Braking is handled by a single disc at both ends with switchable dual-channel ABS. All the information is displayed on a TFT screen, which is Bluetooth-enabled.
