BSA Scrambler 650 India Launch Expected Today

  • Based on the Gold Star 650
  • Powered by a 652cc single-cylinder engine
  • Will rival the Bear 650

Classic Legends is gearing up to launch a couple of bikes today in India. While one of the bikes is the new Yezdi Scrambler, the other motorcycle is expected to be the BSA Scrambler 650.

BSA currently only has the Gold Star 650 on sale in India, and the introduction of the Scrambler 650 will broaden its portfolio in the country. The latter is already on sale in a few international markets.

While it shares its underpinnings with the Goldstar, the Scrambler 650 features a host of changes to suit its purpose. The Scrambler differentiates itself with a 19/17-inch spoke wheel setup wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres, along with a revised sub-frame that accommodates a sleeker tail section and a bench-style seat. It also gets a different exhaust canister, which is expected to deliver a throatier exhaust note.

Powering the motorcycle is the same 652cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces around 46bhp and 55Nm, paired with a five-speed gearbox. In terms of positioning, the Scrambler 650 will rival the Royal Enfield Bear 650. Given its single-cylinder configuration, it could be priced around Rs. 3.30 lakh to Rs. 3.40 lakh (ex-showroom).
