KYT has expanded its racing helmet portfolio in India with the launch of the R1R race helmet. The new full-face helmet is designed with a clear focus on track performance, while also being homologated for road use.

The R1R features a tri-composite shell constructed using carbon fibre, aramid fibre, and fibreglass. It also gets a multi-density EPS liner for improved impact absorption. In terms of safety, the R1R meets the latest ECE 22.06 certification and is also compliant with ISI standards. It is offered in three shell sizes – small, medium, and large, and weighs 1,550g for the M size.

Aerodynamics is a key highlight of the R1R, with the helmet featuring an integrated rear spoiler and multiple air intake and exhaust vents. KYT claims the setup helps in maintaining stability while also aiding ventilation. The helmet is equipped with Hydrocool inner liners that are designed to improve comfort by managing heat and moisture.
