Bajaj Avenger Street 220 India Launch Soon; Street 160 Discontinued

  • Will be based on Avenger Cruise 220
  • Powered by a 220cc, single-cylinder motor
  • Likely to launch this month

Bajaj Auto is planning to launch the Avenger Street 220 in India, as the motorcycle has been listed on its official website. While the launch timeline isn’t revealed yet, we expect the bike to be launched later this month.

The Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 is priced at Rs. 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom), and we expect the Street 220 to be priced a few thousand lower than the Cruise. Besides the Cruise 220 , Bajaj seems to have discontinued the Avenger Street 160 in India, as the model has been removed from Bajaj’s official website. The 220 Cruise and 220 Street are the only Avenger models listed on Bajaj’s website currently.

The Bajaj Avenger Street 220 will be powered by the same engine that is seen on the Avenger Cruise 220. The 220cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder motor produces 19bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 17.6Nm at 7,000rpm.

Compared to the Cruise, the Street features revised ergonomics with a lower handlebar. It comes devoid of the pillion backrest, while the tall windshield makes way for a short, stubby visor. Besides this, the bike also gets a blacked-out treatment for its chassis and other components. The Avenger Street 220 will be available in two colours, Ebony Black and Cocktail Wine Red.
