Oxford Security Locks Adds a Useful Layer for Your Motorcycle at Rs.5,700

  • Oxford offers disc locks, alarm locks, chains, U locks, cable locks and ground anchors
  • Indian online pricing starts around Rs. 5,700 for Oxford alarm disc locks

Since most Indian riders park their motorcycles in open spaces, apartment basements, office lots, roadside bays or shared parking areas, Oxford Products’ motorcycle security range could be a useful addition to your safety arsenal. The line-up includes chain locks, alarmed disc locks, standard disc locks, U locks, cable locks, ground anchors and lever locks which are available at many aftermarket suppliers in India. The idea with a layered setup is to make the bike harder, slower and noisier to move.

For us, the most easily usable Oxford security product is the alarm disc locks. Screamer 7 gets a 100dB alarm siren, motion and shock sensors, 7mm locking pin, water-resistant keyway cover and push-to-lock ease. It will be suitable for scooters, commuter motorcycles and premium bikes places where an audible alarm can draw attention. It is not a complete anti-theft solution by itself, but is a strong first barrier to alert people nearby if the motorcycle is disturbed.

The Quartz Xalo XA10 sits a step higher at Rs. 7k. It uses a 10mm hardened locking pin, alloy construction and a twin-spar lock chassis. It is a strong motorcycle and scooter alarm disc lock with three keys and is designed for scooters and motorcycles. For riders who own heavier or more expensive motorcycles, the XA10 looks like the better choice. Also alarm disc locks are useful because they are compact and easy to carry. It’ll fit inside under-seat storage, a tank bag, a tail bag or even a backpack.

Royal Enfield Front Wheel

There is a wider global range from Oxford which is still difficult to source in India. This is a chain-lock line-up including products such as the Nemesis, Boss Alarm, MonsterXL, Patriot, Hardcore XC13, HD Max and other chain systems. The company also offers heavy-duty chains, U locks, ground anchors, and lever locks globally, but not here yet.

See, this is where the Indian market still has a gap. Alarm disc locks are available through some suppliers, but the larger chains and anchors appear less common and may come through limited imports or special orders only. If Indian suppliers bring more of Oxford’s chain locks, Monster, Boss, Nemesis and ground anchor options, they could find buyers among owners of mid to high capacity motorcycles easily. These riders often park expensive machines in mixed-security environments.
