Yamaha R9 Gets a New Colour Scheme in the US

Yamaha has launched the 2027 R9 with a special colour scheme called Matte Phantom Blue / Fluo Red. This new shade is currently exclusive to the US market. Yamaha has not announced whether it will be offered in other markets

The shade features a dark blue paint scheme, with red pin stripes and a Yamaha R9 graphic on the fairing. The bike also gets a red shade on the rims and front fender, which adds a nice contrast to the understated blue colour on the fairing. Yamaha has also added the red finish on the lower end of the fairing.

The colour scheme looks like a nice middle ground between the bold Team Yamaha Blue and the Raven black colour schemes. Aside from the addition of the new colour scheme, no changes have been made to the bike. It continues to be powered by the same 890cc, liquid-cooled, three-cylinder engine producing 117.3bhp and 93Nm.

The bike is suspended on a 43mm KYB inverted fork and a KYB monoshock. It rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends, with braking duties handled by a 320mm front and 220mm rear disc brake setup.
