SHAD Unveils New TR08 Crash Bar Bag for Touring Use

  • 8 litres of added storage space
  • IPX4 water resistance; 1,500 hours of UV resistance
  • Can carry up to 2.6kg

SHAD TR08 has been released as a new crash bar-mounted bag under the Terra range. It gives adventure riders extra storage space in an area of the motorcycle that often remains unused. With an eight-litre capacity, the TR08 is not replacing panniers or a top box but designed to carry smaller items that riders may want quick access to during touring or trail riding.

TR08 is built for motorcycles fitted with crash bars offering a better fit for adventure and dual-purpose motorcycles. You can mount it on bikes such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM Adventure range, Suzuki V-Strom SX, Kawasaki Versys models, BMW GS series, Triumph Tigers and other touring machines that have crash bars. However, do check fitment carefully because crash bar shape, exhaust heat, leg clearance and steering movement can vary from bike to bike.

Construction is of reinforced polyester, double PVC coating and Hypalon for the TR08 to enhance its durability, abrasion resistance and weather protection. The bag is IPX4-certified for water resistance and claims 1,500 hours of UV resistance as well. SHAD also says the TR08 has been tested through simulations covering more than 1,00,000km of vibration and stress. The bag uses a five-buckle closure system to stay fixed around the crash bar. It can hold up to 2.6kg of gear, enough for tools, rain gloves, a puncture repair kit, snacks, a small compressor, chain lube or other compact essentials.

TR08 also supports a modular MOLLE system allowing it to pair with SHAD’s TR40 and TR50 panniers. It also has a dual-lock system that secures both the contents and the bag to the motorcycle.
