Royal Enfield marks 125 years with Redditch heritage plaque

Royal Enfield has commemorated its 125th anniversary by unveiling a World Origin Site plaque at the location of its first factory in Redditch, England.

The plaque has been installed at the site of the historic Hunt End Works, now situated on Enfield Road, recognising the birthplace of one of the world’s oldest motorcycle manufacturers.

As part of the celebrations, Royal Enfield showcased motorcycles spanning five generations. The display included the ‘Project Origin’ replica of the company’s first motorcycle from 1901, a restored 1932 Bullet, and the newly revealed Classic 650 125th Anniversary Edition.

The special edition motorcycle, which is set to go on sale in Europe from August 2026, features exclusive anniversary-themed styling and a commemorative 125-year badge.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by TV personality Richard Hammond, the Mayor of Redditch Susan Eacock, Royal Enfield employees, Riders Club members, and former workers from the original Redditch factory.

The World Origin Site, for the uninitiaed, is a programme that recognises locations associated with significant inventions, discoveries, and brands.
