Upcoming Ather EL Platform Scooter Launch Date Revealed

Ather has revealed the launch date of the upcoming mass-market scooter based on its new EL platform. The scooter will be launched at Ather Community Day, scheduled for 29 August 2026. The upcoming scooter will likely be the most affordable one from the brand.

The scooter was unveiled earlier in concept form called EL01, and the production-spec version was spotted testing recently. From the spy shots and recent patent filings, it is clear that the scooter will carry forward a similar design to the concept scooter.

Details about the powertrain have not been revealed so far, but from the spy shots we have a decent idea of the upcoming scooter’s underpinnings. It was seen running a 14-inch front and 12-inch rear alloy wheel setup, with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.

Like the concept, we expect the production-spec scooter to feature the same 7-inch TFT console with smartphone connectivity and related features. The EL platform will spawn more models of different body types down the line with battery capacity ranging from 2kWh to 5kWh.

With this new platform, the brand is trying to bring mass-market-focused electric two-wheelers to address the gap in its portfolio. The upcoming scooter could be the most affordable one from Ather till now, and it will likely be priced anywhere from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The price could go even lower if Ather rolls out a Battery-as-a-Service scheme.
