Honda ADV 160: Top highlights of the maxi-scooter that is launching soon

The Honda ADV 160 has finally made its India debut, marking the company’s entry into the growing premium adventure-scooter segment. Here are the five biggest highlights of Honda’s new maxi-scooter.

Rugged styling

The ADV 160 gets a distinctive design that sets it apart from conventional scooters. It features a tall windscreen, sharp bodywork, muscular front apron, dual LED headlamps, handguards, and a stepped seat. The front apron is quite large and will add to the scooter’s road presence. At first sight, the build quality is typically good, as expected of a Honda.

156.9cc liquid-cooled engine

Powering the ADV 160 is a 156.9cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that develops 16.09bhp and 14.9Nm. It is paired with a CVT transmission and also gets Honda’s idle stop-start system to improve fuel efficiency. Not to mention the future- readiness of engine given the fact that it is upto E85 compatible.

The chassis

Unlike most premium scooters, the Honda ADV 160 uses a 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheel combination along with long-travel suspension. The setup is said to offer better stability and improved capability over broken roads while retaining everyday usability

Feature-rich package

Honda has equipped the ADV 160 with a comprehensive list of features, including keyless ignition, a fully digital instrument console, USB charging, traction control, ABS, and ample under-seat storage.

Premium scooter segment entrant

With the ADV 160, Honda enters the premium 150-160cc scooter category, where it is expected to compete against the Hero Xoom 160. The scooter is expected to go on sale in this year, possibly during the upcoming festive season.
