  • Powered by a 501cc, single-cylinder engine
  • Produces 27.76bhp and 43.3Nm

Honda has unveiled the all-new CB500 in India, marking its entry into the premium modern-retro motorcycle segment. Inspired by the iconic CB750, the new Honda CB500 blends classic styling with modern technology and will be manufactured in India.

The CB500 adopts Honda’s ‘Retro Sporty’ design philosophy. It features a round LED headlamp, sculpted fuel tank, wide handlebar, and clean bodywork that gives it the road presence of a modern-classic roadster. Honda claims the motorcycle is designed to deliver a torque-rich riding experience while building on the legacy of the CB lineup.

Honda Engine From Right

Powering the CB500 is an all-new 501cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine that develops 27.76bhp and 43.3Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with a five-speed gearbox and benefits from an assist and slipper clutch. The latter should make downshifts smoother while reducing rear-wheel hop under hard deceleration.

The motorcycle will be offered in three variants – Alloy, Spoke Tubeless, and Spoke Tubeless with Graphics. Feature-wise, the CB500 comes equipped with Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity, an analogue-digital instrument cluster, all-LED lighting, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), and disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS.

Underneath, the motorcycle rides on a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel. These are shod with Maxxis tyres measuring 100/90-19 at the front and 150/70-17 at the rear. The display model was equipped with tubeless cross-spoke wheels. Honda has confirmed that the CB500 will be manufactured in India, making it the flagship model in the CB lineup. The company is expected to announce the prices and booking details in the coming months.
