The CEAT Indian Supercross Racing League, the world’s first franchise-based Supercross league, has announced the opening of the rider registrations for the much awaited supercross league in India.
The CEAT Indian Supercross League, in collaboration with the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), invites riders from all over the world to take part and demonstrate their abilities on the thrilling supercross tracks, establishing a new form of motorsports in India with a mix of action, entertainment, and competition.
The CEAT Racing League’s first season, which is set to run from October to December 2023, will have numerous rounds held in different Indian cities. The League promises tough battles in four thrilling racing categories: the 450cc International riders only, 250cc International riders only, 250cc India-Asia mix, and 85cc Junior class.
The ISRL Season 1 is open to athletes of all countries, and the organizers are focused on establishing a level playing field that showcases talent from around the world. Riders from nations other than India must submit a No Objection Letter/Certificate from their respective National Sporting Authorities (ASN)/National Federations for racing to the FMSCI and SXI in order to ensure fair participation.
Eeshan Lokhande, Co-Founder and Director of Supercross India Pvt. Ltd, said, “We have reached out to all the Federations worldwide to ensure that Supercross Racers from across the globe have a chance to register for the rider pool and seize the opportunity to be a part of this historic rider’s auction.”
Lokhande added, “The Supercross Racing League is revolutionizing the sport and we hope to attract a league of extraordinary riders who are ready to dominate the world of Supercross. This is your chance to showcase your talent, ignite the track, and propel India to the forefront of the motorsport’s world. Don’t miss out on this exhilarating opportunity!”
By registering, riders are displaying their interest in participating in the Player Auction, where Franchises will select riders to ride for them in the Racing League. Successful riders will have the opportunity to compete at the highest level and showcase their skills on a national stage.
Mr. Sujith Kumar, Chairman of the Supercross Racing Commission of FMSCI, said, “We are delighted to announce the commencement of rider registration for the CEAT Indian Supercross Racing League. This exciting opportunity not only offers a platform for talented riders from India but also welcomes international riders, thereby elevating the sport to new heights in our country.”
“The participation of international riders will bring a global perspective and enhance the competitiveness of Supercross racing in India. We look forward to witnessing the fusion of diverse talents and the thrilling racing action that awaits us in the upcoming season,” Mr. Kumar added.
The Rider Registration does not guarantee participation in Season 1 of the Racing League. Instead, it’s a required step to enter the rider pool and for a chance to get selected by Franchises during the player auction.
The CEAT Indian Supercross League is a great way to build the motorsporting community in India by providing a new format of racing which hasn’t been seen here, yet. Supercross is a constantly growing sport in foreign countries, and India is finally set to host their own Supercross League with the help of CEAT.
This also provides a chance to those Indian enthusiasts who have wanted to try their hand in the field of supercross racing but haven’t been able to due to the lack of resources. Now, with the launch of this League, we can hope that the Supercross community in India grows further.
