Ampere Reo VYB has been released as a low-speed urban runabout at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs. 69,499. It joins Ampere’s entry-level family scooter portfolio and is aimed at young city riders, first-time EV buyers and those who mainly need a simple machine for short daily commutes.

Reo VYB is powered by a Lithium Ferro Phosphate LFP battery often valued for its thermal stability and safety focus which is good in India’s hot weather and stop-go traffic. The company claims it has a true riding range of up to 80km on a full charge with battery life rated up to 1,00,000km of use. The scooter should be good enough for short commutes to the office, tuition, local shopping, short delivery use and everyday errands.

It has a top speed of 25kmph, so the Reo VYB may not be for riders who want a faster scoot or have longer suburban stretches. VYB is better suited to short-distance travel where ease of use, low running cost and simple handling is the priority. The refreshed look comes in four colour options, Warm White, Pastel Purple, Dark Grey and Aqua Metallic.

The scoot comes with 24 litres of under-seat storage enough for a small bag, charger, rainwear or daily essentials. It also gets a colour LCD digital cluster, key fob with keyless start, front disc brake, LED headlamp and LED tail lamp. Umm rider footrest has also been added as an essential accessory.

It comes with a 3-year or 30,000km warranty, and enhanced after-sales service through more than 400 touchpoints across India along with 12×7 customer care support.
