The Honda Elevate, sold in Japan as the WR-V, has been given a unique treatment by the local tuned Damd. Staying true to their modus operandi, Damd has created the WR-V Reverb by giving the unassuming family SUV a Jeep Cherokee XJ-inspired makeover. Their unique creation will be on display at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon.

The WRV-Reverb is not just a mere cosmetic makeover. Damb has left no stone unturned to make it stand out. The Honda WR-V has a no-nonsense exterior design and has been transformed into a rugged-looking off-roader. The biggest revision is the complete redesign of its face. Paying homage to the Cherokee XJ, Damd has given its rectangular headlights and a six-slot front grille.

You’ll also find wood paneling decals on the fender, doors, and rear quarter panels. The hood has also been redesigned into a boxier shape, with plastic and faux aluminium accents and a squared-off front bumper. Summing up, the WR-V Reverb’s all-terrain look is a knobby set of BF Goodrich off-road tyres wrapped around black steel wheels.

No mechanical change has been made. Underneath the rugged makeover is a humble WR-V. The Japanese-spec model has the same drivetrain as the ‘Elevate’ sold in India. It features a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 119 hp and 145 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a CVT, and power goes to the front wheels.
