Distracted Venue Driver Rams Bullock Cart – Dashcam Footage Reveals Shocking Visuals

A video of a Hyundai Venue SUV ramming a bullock cart has now gone viral. The video of the accident was captured by a dashcam fitted in the vehicle that was travelling just a few meters behind the Venue SUV that was involved in the accident.

What is very interesting in the video is that the Hyundai Venue that was involved in the accident was neither driving fast nor rashly or in any kind of indisciplined manner.

The accident took place at Thenkashi – Rajapalayam Road in Tamilnadu, and the video shows the Hyundai Venue travelling at a steady speed of approximately 50km/h on a single-lane road with almost no traffic.

However, as the Hyundai Venue was crossing a small bridge, the SUV rammed a slow-moving bullock cart in front of it. It is also worth mentioning that the Hyundai Venue driver neither braked nor made any steering input before the accident.

This means the Hyundai Venue driver failed to spot the bullock cart in front, giving rise to the suspicion that the driver in the Venue SUV might have been distracted.

Speaking about distraction, modern cars come with plenty of equipment, and out of all these equipments, the touchscreen infotainment unit can cause some major distraction to drivers, especially if they are the ones who are operating it.

In some cars, even the basic climate control access is integrated into the touchscreen infotainment unit. This means the driver has to take his eyes off the road for a significant amount of time even to adjust the temperature or blower speed.

Analysing the dashcam footage, it seems that the driver of the Hyundai Venue SUV involved in the accident failed to spot the bullock cart in front due to some kind of distraction. In such cases, having ADAS in your car can be lifesaving.
