Honda Patents NPF 125 Scooter In India

Honda has filed a design patent for the NPF 125 scooter in India. The smart-looking scooter is on sale overseas, in markets such as China. It uses the same platform as the Activa 125 and Dio 125 sold in India. The design patent filing does not mean the Japanese bike maker will launch the scooter in India. The brand could protect the vehicle’s design in the Indian market like it has done with its other international products.

Honda NPF 125: Features

The NPF 125 has a slightly more aggressive design than the Actiav 125 and Dio 125. It looks sportier, and features LED lighting. Other features include an LCD instrument cluster, keyless ignition, ISB charging ports, and cubby holes at the front.

Based on the same platform as the Activa 125 and Dio 125, the NPF 125 uses the same 124 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The motor cranks out 9.39 hp and 10 NM of peak torque and hooks to a CVT. Being a budget offering, it uses telescopic forks at the front with a monoshock setup at the back. Stopping power comes from a disc brake at the front with a drum at the rear.
