Hyundai Launches Creta Electric at Bharat Mobility Expo on 17th Jan

Hyundai will launch its first electric SUV fully localized in India, the Creta Electric, on 17th January, 2025, at the prestigious Bharat Mobility Global Expo.

Design and Features

The similar silhouette of ICE counterpart is retained by the Creta Electric with EV specific design elements.

A replacement of the traditional grille is found on the front fascia, which has a pixelated pattern, with a central charging flap bearing the Hyundai logo above and a HYUNDAI in beneath it on matching silver metal. The updated bumper includes active air flaps to optimize airflow for battery cooling, and improve aerodynamic efficiency. A newly designed 17 in aerodynamically styled alloy wheels allows the SUV to ride.

Creta Electric has a dual tone black and white cabin whereas inside. Significant news is a new steering wheel that is three spoke and commercially inspired by the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and a revamped center console with updated controls designed specifically for the electric drivetrain. There’s a stalk type drive mode selector that sits behind the wheel, like the Ioniq 5. Featuring dual 10.25 inch screens in the dashboard, the SUV comes with features like a panoramic sunroof and Vehicle to Load (V2L) charging, which will enable the battery of the car to power external devices.

Battery Performance and Battery Options

Hyundai will offer the Creta Electric with two battery pack options:

  • 42 kWh Battery Pack : Offers an ARAI claimed range of 390 km.
  • 51.4 kWh Battery Pack : An extended ARAI claimed range of 473 km.
  • With an electric motor, the SUV manages to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.

Variants and Color Options

The Creta Electric will be available in four variants: It comes in an executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence finish.

Eight monotone and two dual tone colors are available to customers, including Abyss Black Pearl, Atlas White, Fiery Red Pearl, Starry Night, Ocean Blue Metallic, Ocean Blue Matte, Titan Grey Matte, Robust Emerald Matte, Atlas White with Black Roof, and Ocean Blue Metallic with Black Roof.

Pricing and Competition

Hyundai is set to price the Hyundai Creta Electric between 22 lakh to 26 lakh (ex showroom) and compete with its rivals in the electric compact SUV segment. In the Indian market, it will be up against upcoming models such as Maruti e Vitara, Tata Curvv EV and MG ZS EV.
