Hyundai to launch 5 locally-made EVs in India by 2030

Hyundai has revealed its ambitious strategy to introduce five locally manufactured electric vehicle (EV) models in the Indian market by 2030.

The first model will be CRETA EV and it is confirmed to enter production at the end of this year.

With a projected launch in 2025, the CRETA EV is expected to offer an impressive range of approximately 500km and will likely mirror the design and features of the facelifted CRETA. It is projected to range from ₹22-26 lakh.

Hyundai VENUE EV to be based on next-gen model

Following the CRETA EV, Hyundai plans to launch the VENUE EV, a model designed to compete in an increasingly competitive EV segment.

The design and features of this model will be based on the next-generation car set for a 2025 release.

The existing VENUE model was introduced in 2019 and underwent a facelift in 2022, indicating Hyundai’s commitment to continuous innovation and improvement.

Hyundai ALCAZAR EV: A 3-row version of CRETA EV

The third addition to Hyundai’s EV lineup will be the ALCAZAR EV, a three-row version of the CRETA EV.

An update for the ICE ALCAZAR is anticipated later this year, with the EV model likely incorporating similar design updates and feature enhancements.

This model will represent Hyundai-Kia alliance’s second three-row vehicle for the Indian market, demonstrating their commitment to offering diverse options for consumers.

Hyundai EXTER EV: A budget model

Hyundai’s budget offering in its all-electric portfolio will be the EXTER EV, designed to compete in the ₹10-12 lakh price bracket.

This model will go head-to-head with models such as the Tiago EV, Punch EV, MG Comet, Tata Tigor EV as well as future models from Maruti and Toyota.

The fifth model will be the updated IONIQ 5 EV expected to debut in India in the coming years.
