Mahindra BE 6 And XEV 9e EV Charger Policy Updated; Here’s How You Can Save Upto Rs 75,000

Under certain conditions, you no longer need to buy an EV charger from Mahindra if you are buying the BE 6 or XEV 9e. The homegrown automaker has updated its mandatory EV charger policy. Changes, which Mahindra shared in a social media post, lay out three specific conditions under which customers can opt out of buying the 7.2 kWh or the 11 kWh EV charger, which cost Rs 50,000 and Rs 75,000, respectively.

Mahindra’s updated policy states that a customer can opt out of acquiring a company-supplied charger under three specific conditions:

  • Buyers whose homes or offices lack the necessary provisions for a private charger.
  • Customers who already possess a compatible charger that meets Mahindra’s safety standards.
  • Families purchasing two or more Mahindra e-SUVs may only require a single charging point.

For those who do not meet the above criteria, Mahindra will continue to offer its 7.2kW AC charger, priced at Rs 50,000, alongside an 11.2kW AC charger, available for Rs 75,000. These chargers must be purchased with electric vehicles.
