Automaker Renault is actively road-testing a seven-seat iteration of the Duster, which was recently captured in fresh spy shots revealing a heavily camouflaged test mule. Following last week's introduction of the Duster hybrid in India starting at Rs. 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the French manufacturer is expanding its SUV portfolio with this upcoming three-row variant. The new model is anticipated to make its public debut at the 2027 Bharat Mobility Expo, with official pricing expected to follow in the first half of 2027.

Exterior Styling and Design Modifications

The upcoming three-row derivative features a heavily overhauled front bumper compared to its five-seat sibling, incorporating a fresh grille design, an updated air dam housing small rectangular inserts, and new lateral air curtains. While the headlamp configuration and LED daytime running lights are expected to carry over without changes, the profile gains robust wheel cladding, newly designed alloy wheels, roof rails, and rear door-mounted handles.

At the back, the vehicle retains a familiar aesthetic layout. Visible elements include a raked rear windshield, an integrated spoiler, a rear window wiper with a washer, a tailgate-integrated recess for the license plate, a robust rear bumper, and C-shaped LED taillight clusters.

Interior Layout and Expected Features

A glimpse inside the cabin of the test mule highlights a dual-tone black and brown upholstery theme alongside rectangular air-conditioning vents. The interior layout also incorporates an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror and a multifunction steering wheel with a three-spoke design.

Much of the central console architecture and standard equipment list is anticipated to be shared directly with the five-seat Duster model.

Powertrain Options and Market Positioning

The standard five-seat Duster is currently offered with three engine choices consisting of a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol, and an 1.8-litre strong-hybrid motor. These powerplants utilize six-speed manual, six-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), and multi-mode automatic gearboxes, though it remains unconfirmed which of these specific options will power the upcoming three-row variant.
