Actor and politician Pawan Kalyan turned quite a lot of heads and made his fans go gaga last year when he revealed his campaign vehicle for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh elections.
Named Varahi after a goddess worshipped by ancient kings, this modified truck featured a host of features to ensure that Kalyan was seen and heard on the campaign trail by his fans while being kept as safe as possible.
Now the Telugu actor, who is the brother of actor Chiranjeevi and known by his adoring fan base as ‘Power Star’ has finally unleashed Varahi onto the campaign trail.
After offerings prayers at the temple town of Annavaram yesterday, Kalyan and Varahi started the first leg of the campaign yatra being unleashed by the Jana Sena chief. The first leg of the Yatra will end in Bhimavaram.
Pawan’s tour will see the Jana Sena head take Varahi across the constituencies of Prathipadu, Pithapuram, Kakinada Rural, Mummidivaram, Rajolu, P. Gannavaram and Narasapuram. The yatra will end on the 21st of June in Amalapuram, the largest town of the Konaseema district of Andhra Pradesh.
Not much is known about the Varahi vehicle used by Kalyan for his campaign yatra. The modified truck is registered in Telangana under the name of The Hands Trading Private Limited, a chain of tea stalls whose owner has reportedly donated the vehicle to Kalyan to use for his political campaigning.
What we know is that Varahi is packed with all the amenities needed to ensure that Kalyan is kept safe on the campaign trail while also ensuring he is seen and heard when addressing his adoring followers.
The truck has its own lighting system to ensure that Kalyan is seen by his fans and a sound system that ensures that he is heard as well, as he addresses the crowds while campaigning. There are a host of cameras that record everything they see and send it to a server in real time.
When Kalyan first revealed Varahi to the world, his political rivals were rather quick to point out the fact that his campaign truck was painted in a shade of green that was reserved solely for military use. Thankfully when the truck was finally registered in Telangana, it sported a different shade of green – emerald.
Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan’s Virahi campaign truck will ensure that the ‘Power Star’ is heard and seen across the campaign trail as he tries to get the people of Andhra Pradesh to give him their votes.
