The Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge Blue Shadow Is An Astronomical Masterpiece

English luxury carmaker has revealed its latest private collection based on the Cullinan Black Badge SUV. The Rolls-Royce Black Badge Blue Shadow is limited to 62 units.

All 62 units of the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Blue Shadow private collection are already spoken for. The limited number of units and the private collection itself is inspired by the Kármán Line – the invisible boundary that distinguishes Earth from space, which sits 62 miles (100km) above the Earth.

The Kármán Line is where the vivid blue of our atmosphere turns into the visible inky darkness of space and this is reflected in the bespoke ‘Stardust Blue’ exterior of each Rolls-Royce Black Badge Blue Shadow.

The paint on the grille surrounds of this Cullinan from the cosmos pays homage to the space shuttle program. The surrounds are finished in the same shade as the high-temperature-resisting thermal tiles found on the space shuttle.

The Spirit of Ecstacy for the Blue Shadow collection is also unique. The flying lady herself is made from 3D-printed titanium. The base of the iconic hood ornament features the Blue Shadow name and the infinity logo which are both infilled with ‘Charles Blue’ paint.

Step inside the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Blue Shadow’s interior after admiring the subtly darkened wheels and you’ll find yourselves transported to the edge of space.

The interiors beautifully capture the transition from the atmosphere to deep space with a uniquely painted dashboard and door panels. This is achieved with a six-layer paint scheme which combines five different shades of blue with a deep black hue.

The final touch to this internal space journey comes in the form of a final clear coat layer that incorporates clear glass and blue particles. The dash is further enhanced by the bespoke clock, unique to the Blue Shadow. The name of the collection is also engraved into it.

Look up and you’ll be mesmerised by the ‘Edge of Space’ headliner which features an intricate moon embroidery surrounded by an array of stars. The embroidery features 250,000 different stitches and a total of 1,183 stars – 799 in white and 384 in blue.

The seats on this cosmic Cullinan Black Badge also feature some rather unique details. The leather upholstery is inspired by the view of Earth from space and its intricacy leaves an impression of the clouds floating above our heads in the atmosphere. Each seat has 75,000 perforations.

The final detail for this ultra-rare SUV inspired by the cosmos is a set of bespoke Rolls-Royce luggage set. The luggage set matches the colours of the private collection.

The luggage set along with a 1:8 scale model are both optional extras for the Cullinan Black Badge Blue Shadow. The scale model features functioning exterior and interior lights.
