The Ultimate Rich Guy Flex – McLaren Senna GTR Gets Lifted To 57th-Floor Penthouse

A McLaren Senna GTR was craned up to the 57th-floor penthouse apartment of a millionaire real estate invester in Melbourne, Australia, drawing quite a bit of attention from the locals on the ground.

The Senna GTR was designed by McLaren as a track-only version of its already bonkers Senna supercar and as such is not a road-legal car despite its exorbitant price tag of 3 Million Australian Dollars (Rs 16.42 crore) in the land down under.

The non-road-legal status of the track-only supercar is the reason why this Senna GTR made its way into the empty shell of the 57th-floor penthouse apartment which crowns the “Sapphire By The Gardens” dual-tower residence and hotel in Melbourne.

The 57th-floor penthouse, which is the most expensive apartment in Melbourne and the Senna GTR are both owned by real estate investor and the founder of the LMCT Plus rewards club venture for businesses, Adrian Portelli.

Portelli’s McLaren Senna GTR was loaded onto the crane on the street level before it was carefully lifted to his luxury home on the 57th floor. When it reached the penthouse level it was then rolled into the apartment.

The penthouse apartment, which reportedly cost 39 million Australian dollars (Rs 213.58 crore) is currently a shell. However, Portelli’s McLaren Senna GTR will become the centrepiece of the bespoke interior being designed for the penthouse suite by the owner and Cox Architecture.

As mentioned earlier, the McLaren Senna GTR is a track-only version of the already-mad Senna supercar. The Senna GTR was unveiled back in 2018 and was limited to just 75 units.

Like its road-going sibling, the Senna GTR is powered by McLaren’s M840TR 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that pushes out 814bhp and 800Nm of peak torque. With a dry weight of 1,188 kilogrammes, the Senna GTR has a power-to-weight ratio of 684bhp per tonne.

The Senna GTR brings a host of upgrades over the road-spec Senna other than the upgraded engine all of which help make this an even faster monster around the track.

These changes include a more race-focused front end with a larger front splitter, new dive planes for the front bumper, a massive rear wing that would look fine on the LMP-1 cars of the time and an enormous rear diffuser that looks like it would scrape you off the track.

Thoughts: The lifting of the track-only McLaren Senna GTR into a 57th-floor penthouse apartment is the ultimate ‘rich guy’ flex we could think of. However, what makes us sad is that this McLaren Senna GTR is never likely to ever be seen on a track again.
