This Luxury Yacht Looks Is A Decadent Tribute To The Roaring Twenties

Luxury yachts are the ultimate flex among those with bank balances that start with ‘Billion’ with these VIP high-value people preferring the tranquil calm waves of the sea to the madness on land.

Now, these high-value wallets have something new to drool over in the form of a concept by UK-based firm Andy Waugh Yacht Design. This twin-hulled design of this massive yacht looks absolutely mad and gives it a few advantages when riding the waves.

The design of the Decadence, known better as SWATH (small waterplane area twin hull) is a catamaran design that minimizes the hull cross-section area at the sea’s surface. This helps the concept achieve a reduction in pitch and roll movements of around 70 per cent when compared to a conventional monohull yacht, vastly improving both comfort and safety onboard.

Another advantage of this design according to Andy Waugh Yacht Design is the fact that it offers unique and exciting aesthetic possibilities that have not been realized yet in the luxury yacht scene.

The design opens up a plethora of new possibilities for creative interior layouts and spaces. One example given by the creators of the design suggests crew areas in the ‘sponsons’ and submerged hulls allowing the central area to be used for the guests in the main body.

The Decadence lives up to its name when it comes to size. The massive twin-hulled yacht measures 80 metres long and has a 30-metre beam. This would put the Decadence’s displacement at around 500 gross tonnes, roughly equivalent to a typical 120m yacht.

The massive size of this luxury yacht has its advantages and disadvantages, the size and design allow for some crazy interior designs as discussed earlier.

However, the insanely massive size of this flipping huge catamaran yacht also means that the Decadence will be too large for most marinas. However, the design studio has a solution for that in the form of two built-in 14-metre chase boats that can be used as luxury shuttles to shore.

The Decadence will sport a radical new propulsion system that will reduce energy usage by around 30 per cent. Details about the system are not given but we do believe the massive inflatable sails will help it somewhat.

The Decadence brings the madness of the roaring twenties to the sea in the form of a massive luxury yacht concept that we wish some billionaire would give the green light to.
