Last month, Maruti Suzuki sold 4,226 units of the Celerio. In January this year, sales stood at 1,954 units, a month-on-month increase of 116%. To put things in perspective, Renault sold 698 units of the Kwid last month. That is an increase of 22% over January when sales figures stood at 526 units. The Celerio was one of the biggest gainers in February 2025, second only to the Kylaq, whose MoM sales grew 192%.

The Celerio has a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder K10C engine with petrol and CNG options. With petrol, this engine produces 67.58 hp and 91.1 Nm of peak torque. On CNG, it produces 55.92 hp and 82.1 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The CNG variant of the Celerio comes exclusively with the manual box. The Celerio promises a maximum mileage of 26.00 km/l on petrol variants. Its mileage with CNG stands at 34.43 km/kg.

On the other hand, the Renault Kwid has a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 69 hp and 92.5 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. Depending on which transmission you choose, the Renault Kwid’s ARAI-certified mileage is between 21.7 and 22 km/l.
