Video Of KTM RC390 Crashing On Mountain Roads – Tackle Bends With Thought

A video captured through a helmet mounted camera showed us an accident that occurred among a group of riders and a Maruti Suzuki Alto. It can be seen that some riders were following lane discipline, while others were not and that’s what led to the mishap.

Somewhere up North, a group of riders were attacking mountain bends, getting their knees and body’s out while cornering. While doing so, one rider on a KTM RC390, without following any lane discipline, tried taking the racing line through a corner and met a Maruti Suzuki Alto face-to-face.

The rider luckily managed to swerve avoiding serious injury, but nevertheless still had an impact with the front left corner of the car. The rider lost control of the RC390, went to the run-off area of the road and then up a mud bank, before falling off the bike. The rider seemed to be unhurt, though.

In terms of damage, the information is unclear. But, the front-left section of the Maruti Alto and the rear-left section of the KTM RC390, near the exhaust, had contact with each other, which may have resulted in some minor damage.

When watched carefully, we can see some debris fly off the Alto’s indicator, and that side of the bumper gets pulled off. Also, the bike did fall down on mud and dirt, so beyond that there may be some more cosmetic damage.

Mountain roads are full of blind curves, where you and oncoming traffic may not be able to see each other until it’s too late. The best way to avoid accidents is to stay in your lane, drive slowly, and always look ahead.

It can be tempting to veer into the opposite lane when you’re going around a curve, but this is very dangerous. If you do, you could hit an oncoming car head-on. It’s also dangerous to try to pass other cars on mountain roads. There’s often not enough room to pass safely, and you could end up in a head-on collision. This is why looking as far as the eye can see is key to riding around bends as we will be prepared for our next move if we see a vehicle approaching.

Always remember, ride for yourself, not to impress others. It’s more important to get to the destination, not what others think of how you got there.
