2026 Honda NX500: What Is New?

2026 Honda NX500: What Is New?

Honda launched the 2026 NX500 in India at Rs. 7.44 lakh (ex-showroom), and it now comes with new colours and Honda’s E-Clutch technology. Here’s a closer look at the changes on the updated bike:

New Shades

The Honda NX500 now comes in two new shades: Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic and Pearl Horizon White. The new colours have given the bike a fresh visual appeal, and look much better than the shades on the previous-generation model.

The Pearl Horizon White gets a combination of light blue and purple graphics, giving the bike a youthful look. The Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic, on the other hand, feels more subtle and premium with the blue-grey finish on the fairings complemented by orange accents. E-Clutch

The biggest mechanical change with the new 2026 NX500 is the addition of the Honda E-Clutch technology. This is the first time the brand has introduced the tech to an adventure bike in India. The E-Clutch uses electronically controlled actuators inside the clutch case to automatically engage and disengage the clutch.

The system works from the get-go, making it possible for riders to shift to first gear and ride without using the clutch lever. There’s also an option to disable this for that old-school riding experience, allowing manual clutch operation.

The system would be useful for newer riders who might not be comfortable with the higher power and torque on bigger bikes. It gives them a way to enjoy their new bike while they’re just getting used to the clutch control and release.

What Remains Unchanged?

The bike continues to be powered by the same 471cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 46.9bhp and 43Nm. The bike is still suspended on the same inverted fork and monoshock setup and rolls on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels.
