2026 Suzuki Burgman Street Real-world Fuel Efficiency Tested

Suzuki recently launched the new-generation Burgman Street 125 in India with comprehensive updates. We have tested the maxi-scooter, and you can read our detailed road test review here. We also tested its fuel efficiency in the city and in mixed riding conditions. Here’s a detailed breakdown of its fuel efficiency.

City Fuel Economy

We first subjected the new Burgman Street to BikeWale’s city mileage test. Our test route is a 10km loop that includes a healthy mix of crowded streets, multiple traffic lights, and some relatively open stretches. In our tests, the aim is to ride the scooter in the same manner as a layman would do, without resorting to extract more mileage.

For the test, we mostly used light throttle inputs and used the scooter’s mid-range to manoeuver it in traffic. After running it for 63.6km, we fuelled it up to the brim, and the scooter took 1.09 litres of fuel. A quick calculation suggests that the Burgman returned a mileage of 58.34kmpl in the city, which translates into a real-world range of over 300km on a full tank.

Highway and City Combined

We also subjected the new Burgman Street to a combined fuel efficiency test with a mix of highway and city commutes. This included normal city traffic, office commutes, and a few open highway jaunts with a couple of top-speed runs with the throttle pinned to the stops. We covered a distance of 176.4km, with the scooter consuming 3.47 litres of fuel.

In these mixed riding conditions, the scooter delivered a fuel economy of 50.28kmpl, which is very good considering we did quite a few high-speed runs and short city commutes. This makes the new Suzuki Burgman Street quite economical to run on a daily basis.

Bikewale’s Fuel Efficiency Test

At Bikewale, the city fuel economy test is performed on a fixed route during mid-morning (around 10-11am), where traffic is moderate, and the signals are working. We start the test by fuelling up the vehicle to the brim at a designated pump, followed by setting up the correct manufacturer-recommended tyre pressures. After the test is done, the vehicle is again topped up to the brim at the same petrol pump and at the same dispenser nozzle. This gives us consistent and accurate readings of our mileage tests.
