The new Suzuki Burgman Street looks noticeably sleeker, sportier, and more cohesive than before. The redesigned front apron with neatly integrated LED headlamps and flowing body panels lends it a more mature and premium appeal. And it still retains its unmistakable maxi-scooter stance.

Suzuki has done a commendable job with the overall quality levels as well. The plastics feel solid, the switchgear has a tactile feel, and the fit-and-finish is impressive for a scooter in this segment.

The Burgman Street 125 continues to excel in the comfort department with its accessible seat height and relaxed rider’s triangle. There’s ample room on the floorboard, and the wide seat remains comfortable for both the rider and pillion. Plus, you also get two distinct riding positions, where you can either sit upright or stretch your legs for a more relaxed riding posture.

The Burgman Street scores highly on the practicality front with its 24.6-litre underseat storage. It also gets front cubbyholes and a charging-port-equipped glove box, making it extremely usable for daily commutes.

On the features front, the top-spec variant comes equipped with keyless ignition, a TFT display with smartphone connectivity, and turn-by-turn navigation support. Other notable additions include full-LED lighting and a combined braking system.

Powering the new Burgman Street is the same refined 124cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 8.3bhp and slightly more torque at 10.2Nm. While it isn’t particularly exciting, the motor feels smooth, refined, and adequately capable for both city commutes and occasional highway runs.

The revised chassis, firmer suspension, and 12-inch wheels have improved the Burgman’s overall dynamics. Although it feels slightly top-heavy at times, the scooter remains easy to manoeuvre through traffic and feels stable in everyday riding conditions.

While the Burgman gets most things right, the ride quality feels noticeably firm, especially when riding solo. While it isn’t outright uncomfortable, sharper potholes and expansion joints can be felt through the seat, although the scooter feels more settled at higher speeds and with a pillion onboard.

The Burgman Street returned an impressive mileage of 58.34kmpl in BikeWale’s city test. Even with mixed riding and aggressive throttle inputs, it consistently delivered over 50kmpl, making it quite economical to run daily.

At nearly Rs. 1.40 lakh on-road for the top-spec variant, the 2026 Suzuki Burgman Street is undeniably expensive for a 125cc scooter. However, its combination of maxi-scooter styling, comfort, and practicality still gives it a unique appeal in the segment.
