While the new design elements are carried onto the base variant of the Verna facelift as well, it does tradeoff certain elements to help bring the cost down from Rs 18.25 lakh ex-showroom price of the top-end HX10 trim. The alloy wheels are replaced with 15-inch steel rims, the silver-finished door handles are body-coloured instead and the new projector headlamps get a halogen bulb setup in place of the LED bulbs. However, the new piano black front grille is standard equipment in the facelift car. Other exterior elements that are not part of the HX2 base variant include the rear spoiler and chrome window inserts.

Inside the cabin, the base HX2 Verna does not get any infotainment provisions or digital driver information displays. It instead gets a dual-tone theme with fabric upholstery, the new D-Cut steering wheel unit with tilt adjust and manual height adjust for the driver seat. It also comes with front and rear power windows, manual air-conditioning and electrically adjustable ORVMs.

While the list of features in the new Verna facelift may seem modest, Hyundai has not compromised on the safety of the new sedan. Except for Level 2 ADAS safety functions reserved for the top-end variants, the carmaker is offering over 35 standard safety features in the Verna from the base variant itself. These include 6 airbags, hill start control, electric stability control, front disc brakes, ABS, EBD and rear parking sensors.
