  • Speed 400 priced at Rs. 2.32 lakh (ex-showroom)
  • T4 is priced at Rs. 1.95 lakh (ex-showroom)

Triumph has launched the updated Speed 400 and Speed T4 in India, now with downsized 350cc motors. The Speed 400 is priced at Rs. 2.32 lakh and the Speed T4 costs Rs. 1.95 lakh, all prices are ex-showroom rates. The Speed 400 is now Rs. 7,110 more affordable, and the Speed T4’s price has remained unchanged.

Neither motorcycle has received any other changes except for the new engines. The 350cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor on the Speed 400 produces 36.4bhp at 8,000rpm and 32Nm at 7000rpm. This is a drop of 3bhp and 5.5Nm. On the Speed T4, the engine produces 28.6bhp at 7500rpm and 31Nm at 5500rpm, which is a drop of 2bhp and 5Nm.

Apart from the changes to the engine, both bikes retain the same design and underpinnings. Like with the recently launched Triumph Tracker 400, the Speed 400 still carries the 400 badging. The same applies to the Speed T4.

The Speed 400 features an inverted fork and monoshock suspension setup. It rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels, with braking duties handled by a 300mm front and a 230mm rear disc brake with dual-channel ABS. The Speed T4 gets the same wheel and brake sizes as the Speed 400, but gets a telescopic fork instead of an inverted fork.

In related news, the brand has also launched the Triumph Scrambler 400 range with the new 350cc engines.
