Petrol Price Hiked Yet Again by Rs. 3 per litre in India

• Fourth price hike since 15 May
• Total price hike amounts to nearly Rs. 8 per litre since 15 May
• CNG prices remain unchanged

The Government of India has yet again increased the price of petrol by Rs. 2.61 per litre. This is the fourth consecutive price increase in the last two weeks, with the first hike taking place on 15 May, 2026. Meanwhile, CNG prices have remained unchanged, which were last hiked by Rs. 1 on 23 May.

With this latest hike, petrol is priced at Rs. 102.12 per litre in Delhi, while it costs Rs. 111.21 per litre in Mumbai, which is a hike of Rs. 2.72. The total price increase on petrol amounts to nearly Rs. 8 per litre since the prices were first hiked on 15 May. Meanwhile, petrol is the most expensive in Hyderabad at Rs. 115.69, followed by Rs 113.51 per litre in Kolkata.

The Iran-US-Israel war has led to rising tensions in West Asia, which has disrupted energy supply chains via the Strait of Hormuz. This has resulted in a hike in global crude oil prices, which currently range between USD 100-110 per barrel.
