Triumph Tracker 400 Launch

Triumph launched the Tracker 400 in India with a new downsized 350cc engine. The flat-tracker-inspired motorcycle produces 39.4bhp at 8750rpm and 32Nm at 7500rpm. Compared to the 400cc motor, this is a drop of 2bhp and 5.5Nm. Since GST 2.0 has come into effect, Triumph has been working on downsizing its 400cc motors to under 350cc. This is done to ensure competitive pricing in the Indian market, now that GST on motorcycles with engine capacity above 350cc are taxed at 40 per cent, while sub-350cc motorcycles are taxed at 18 per cent.
