STUDDS Helios Effect Launched at Rs. 3,445

  • Priced from Rs. 3,445, inclusive of taxes
  • ISI and DOT certification, dual visor, AntiFog100 lens and reflective padding
  • Three sizes and six colour options

STUDDS Accessories has launched the Helios Effect with prices starting at Rs. 3,445. This new variant is manly a decal edition of the brand’s flagship full-face helmet and joins the existing Helios line-up which includes the Unicolor, D1 Asphalt, D2 Circuit and Superman Editions. The helmet is available through offline retail outlets and STUDDS exclusive stores, with online marketplaces availability currently underway.

Since it is a decal update, Helios Effect does not bring a new shell or hardware changes, but rakes in a more aggressive visual identity. The new graphic uses sharp polygon-style panels and hard colour breaks. The helmet is offered in three head sizes, Medium at 57cm, Large at 58cm and Extra-Large at 60cm. Absolutely no clue why Indian manufacturers still ignore the Small size, but this may be a call to riders fitting their helmets properly. You’re all wearing a size too big for your heads! Anyway, there is a large choice of colour combinations. The six colour options are Black and Chameleon Blue, Black Grey and Red, Black White and Red, Black and Red with Metallic Foil, Black and Grey, and Black Blue and White.

Royal Enfield Riding

Helios Effect also comes in both gloss and matte finishes, so that’s definitely welcome. It weighs 1,400 grams for manageable daily use, and even for longer rides. The Helios Effect gets a high-impact ABS shell, aerodynamic spoiler and a dual visor setup. The outer visor is clear while the inner is smoked sun visor to help riders deal with changing light conditions without stopping for a visor swap. It also gets STUDDS’ AntiFog100 lens which in company speak offers 100 seconds of fog-free vision.

The helmet gets a one-touch quick-release visor mechanism, dynamic ventilation, integrated vents, regulated density EPS and a removable liner. The inner padding is hypoallergenic and can be removed and washed. STUDDS has also added spectacle-friendly cheek pad recesses, speaker pockets and a quick-release chin strap. You can see how they’ve packed in as many features as they could.

Helios Effect comes with ISI certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards under IS 4151 and DOT certification under FMVSS No. 218. It also gets cataphote retro-reflective padding, useful in improving the wearer’s visibility in low-light conditions when vehicle headlights fall on the helmet. For a helmet priced from Rs. 3,445, it is a pretty good package.
