JSW MG Motor posts record June sales as EVs contribute over 75% of volumes

India on Wednesday reported its highest-ever monthly wholesale sales, with dispatches rising 30% year-on-year to 7,568 units in June, driven by sustained demand for its electric vehicle (EV) lineup.

EVs accounted for more than 75% of the company’s total sales during the month, underscoring the continued shift towards electric mobility. The automaker attributed the strong momentum to rising fuel prices, the lower running costs of EVs and geopolitical uncertainties in West Asia, which have further influenced consumer buying preferences.

Commenting on the performance, JSW MG Motor India Chief Commercial Officer Vinay Raina said the June numbers reflected robust demand across the company’s portfolio.

“It reflects steady demand across the portfolio and marks our highest-ever wholesale performance, with electric vehicles continuing to account for a significant share of our overall sales,” he said.

At the same time, Raina noted that the company’s internal combustion engine (ICE) models were also witnessing healthy traction.

“We are seeing encouraging customer response to our ICE offerings, reinforcing the strength of our diverse product portfolio,” he added.
